More than 150 pissed-off Bernie Sanders supporters and DNC donors are suing Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC for “breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, unjust enrichment, and negligent misrepresentation for secretly helping Clinton get the presidential nomination over Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.”
Republican lawmakers have also asked the DOJ to appoint a special counsel to investigate several events surrounding last year’s election, including the “inappropriate collusion between the DNC and Clinton campaign to undermine Senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign.”
The scandal broke last summer when WikiLeaks released leaked DNC emails showing the organization was clearly backing Hillary Clinton in the primary. Wasserman Schultz resigned from her position as DNC Chairwoman and went straight to work for the Clinton campaign.
Her reason for stepping down, in her own words, was to focus on “making sure everyone knows that Hillary Clinton would make the best president.”
According to DNC bylaws, the organization is supposed to be impartial when it comes to candidates of its own party.
“To the contrary, the DNC was biased in favor of one candidate, Hillary Clinton, from the beginning and throughout the process,” reads the class-action lawsuit. “The DNC devoted its considerable resources to supporting Clinton above any of the other Democratic candidates.”
The 35-page lawsuit also slams the DNC for “actively concealed its bias from its own donors as well as donors to the campaigns of Clinton’s rivals including Bernie Sanders.”
These accusations are serious. But, as Sunshine State News puts it, the media has been “eerily mum” about the situation.
“You don’t hear a peep in the press,” says retired Miami broker Edmond Ross.
Meanwhile, the husband and wife team of attorneys representing the lawsuit have created a website that functions as a database of all documents related to the case, including leaked DNC emails.
Nonprofit watchdog organization Judicial Watch predicts the website will be a “valuable tool” because “federal court records are not available to the public for free and must be purchased through the government’s online system…Having access to dozens of documents related to this case is a true bonus, especially since there’s been no local or national media coverage.”
This lawsuit is in addition to a more recent scandal in which Wasserman Schultz’s top IT aide Imran Awan was arrested on bank-fraud charges as he was trying to flee to his native Pakistan.
According to news reports, Wasserman Schultz kept Awan employed even after he was fired by other members of Congress for stealing equipment and data systems.
Editor’s note: The DNC’s corruption in this matter has been unmasked, a scandal worthy of national attention. The “fix was in” for Hillary even though Bernie Sanders was a viable competitor with a substantial following. The liberal media has ignored not only the scandal but the ongoing lawsuit,
