Huma Abedin, longtime friend of Hillary Clinton and current Vice Chairwoman for her 2016 campaign, has announced that she will be separating from her husband following yet another sexting scandal.
The aptly-named Anthony Weiner was caught sending inappropriate text messages to a woman while his son was lying in bed next to him. This isn’t Weiner’s first time misbehaving while his wife is on the campaign trail, and it was this same dirty habit that forced him to resign from Congress in 2011.
“After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband,” said Abedin. “Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy.”
The disgraced ex-congressman admits that he has been friends with the woman for some time. “She has asked me not to comment except to say that our conversations were private, often included pictures of her nieces and nephews and my son and were always appropriate,” Weiner told the New York Post.
The homewrecker, a 40-something Trump supporter who wishes to remain anonymous, handed the conversations and photos over to The Post and stated that she began chatting online with Mr. Weiner last January.
Despite Weiner’s statements that the conversations were “always appropriate,” the documents show his habit of steering the messages towards sex. For example, when the woman said she was getting ready for bed, Weiner responded: “Sleeping alone? Asking for a friend?”
Weiner has since been cut off the NY1 TV station, where he regularly appeared on the show “Wise Guys,” and from the New York Daily News, where we worked as an occasional columnist.

Editor’s note: A lot has been made of the similarity between Abedin’s husband and Bill Clinton. Both are serial womanizers who have shown extreme disrepect for their spouses. As a fellow journalist has pointed out, Hillary and Huma seem to share the moniker “doormat.”
They each stayed with their respective relationships not from love and respect but rather from the rank and prestiige brought to them by their marriages. I guess Huma has decided Weiner’s potential is gone.
