Donald Trump’s campaign speech in Akron, Ohio this Monday quickly devolved into a referendum on Hillary’s crimes as the GOP nominee called for an independent investigation of the former Secretary of State’s actions due to the fact that the DOJ has a Clinton bias.
As we wrote in March, everyone knew that Attorney General Loretta Lynch would give Hillary a free pass. We pointed out that in cases where there is a clear conflict of interest (like an Administration whose Secretary of State is prosecutor), Congress has the right to appoint an independent prosecutor. They shoud have done it in March when they had the chance.
And that’s exactly what Trump is saying now.
“The Justice Department is required to appoint an independent special prosecutor because it has proven itself to be, really, sadly, a political arm of the White House,” said Trump to his Ohio audience.
“Nobody has ever seen anything like this before. The DOJ has acted very unethically,” he said, referencing Lynch’s suspicious meeting with Bill Clinton prior to the Department’s decision not to prosecute Hillary for her crimes despite overwhelming evidence.
The impassioned audience broke into chants of “Lock her up!”
Any other citizen in America would be prosecuted for what Hillary did, noted Trump. “As the evidence has become public over the last several months, I have become increasingly shocked by the vast scope of Hillary Clinton’s criminality…Every insider, getting rich off of our broken system, is throwing money at Hillary Clinton. It’s the powerful protecting the powerful. Insiders fighting for insiders.”
“I am fighting for you.”
Editor’s note: We called for this in March, but at that time, nobody realized the corruption in two major U.S. institutions, the FBI and the U.S. Attorney General’s office. It was unbelievable watching the Director of the FBI describe serious crimes in detail but yet decline to prosecute.
