The ongoing racial strife on American campuses has birthed an extremist group of black students known as the Black Liberation Collective (BLC). According to the group’s mission statement, BLC is “dedicated to transforming institutions of higher education through unity, coalition building, direct action, and political education.” This week they demanded that all black students be given free tuition.
The Black Liberation Collective has members in campuses spanning from Missouri to Massachusetts. The list of demands, which aims to end “racial discrimination” on American campuses, was endorsed by students in 73 schools and included specific demands for each institution. Here are the top three demands:
• WE DEMAND at the minimum, Black students and Black faculty to be reflected by the national percentage of Black folk in the country
• WE DEMAND free tuition for Black and indigenous students
• WE DEMAND a divestment from prisons and an investment in communities
Spreading the word on social media with the hashtag #StudentBlackOut, BLC members on campuses across the coutry are planning protests should their ridiculous list of demands be ignored.
