According to the latest Fox News polls and ABC Washington Post polls Republican Presidential Candidate and billionaire Donald Trump has once again established a commanding 10 point lead over Dr. Ben Carson. Trump and Carson had recently slipped into a dead heat.
Caron’s numbers have slipped considerably, CBS/YouGov polls in Iowa show Senator Ted Cruz has overtaken him by 3 points, and Carson is in fourth place in New Hampshire behind Rubio and Cruz.

Republican voters have started to put a stronger emphasis on national security when it comes to picking their candidate. After the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and threats by ISIS to mimic the brutality on American soil, voters are nervous about the future of national security in America, and the polls have been greatly affected.
Both Ben Carson and Ted Cruz spoke to a crowd at the Family Leader Forum in Iowa on Friday night, but it was clearly all about Cruz for this group of conservatives. Cruz’s hardline approach to fighting ISIS and handling the Syrian refugee situation has become far more appealing than Carson’s befuddled remarks regarding any foreign policy issue.
Ben Carson previously appealed to voters with his soft-spoken, calm demeanor, but in light of recent events, Republicans are eager to find a candidate with more experience and knowledge in dealing with serious foreign issues.
Many voters began to re-examine each candidate based on their views on national security after the recent terrorist attacks. Marilu Erdahl, an attendee at Friday night’s event, discussed the importance of Cruz’s experience compared to Carson’s when it comes to national security, “With the state of affairs we’re in right now, I think it is very important. It’s vital…We need someone who knows the ropes, who’s not the establishment but who doesn’t need on-the-job training.”
