Hillary Clinton’s campaign is in serious trouble. A Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday reveals Sanders continues to surprise, showing the Senator now leading Hillary Clinton, 41% to 40%. This news comes at the heels of another poll that has shown Sanders leading Clinton in New Hampshire, another key early primary state.
“You want me to tell you the truth?” Sander asked to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.”Yes, I’m stunned,” Sanders credits his focus on middle-class economics and anti-establishment message as keys to his success.
With Clinton in serious jeopardy of facing charges for mismanaging confidential materials, the Democratic field is certainly wide open. Controversy after controversy have cost the former first lady in the court of public opinion, and all signs are indicating a legal court will be in her near future.
Sanders, a self-proclaimed socialist, was thought to be a fringe candidate, but the former independent has been helped in polls by facing off against an historically weak field. When asked about Hillary’s scandals, Sanders would only say a few words,”I think it’s clearly not helping her.” That is an understatement.
