Louisiana Governor and GOP candidate Bobby Jindal has hit a roadblock in his efforts to take down Planned Parenthood (PP). The abortion giant filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the state of Louisiana in an attempt to stop Jindal from cutting the relationship between Planned Parenthood and Medicaid.
Planned Parenthood clinics in Louisiana may soon no longer provide abortions. According to the Planned Parenthood site “A restrictive abortion law was passed and if this law takes effect, it will pose a serious risk to women across Louisiana. Reports indicate this law could cause some of Louisiana’s five remaining health centers providing safe and legal abortion to close their doors, which could end access south of Shreveport.”
In the lawsuit, Planned Parenthood claims that termination of Medicaid agreements will prevent over 5,000 low-income women from access to health services. Without the $700,000+ a year in Medicaid reimbursements, the Baton Rouge clinic may be forced to shut down.
“The state will aggressively defend our right to cancel the contract,” said Jindal Tuesday, despite federal warnings that his actions may violate the law. “The Medicaid provider contract between the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals and Planned Parenthood gives either party the right to cancel the contract at will with a 30-day notice.”
Planned Parenthood is suffering even more bad press in Alabama, where a clinic failed to report the case of a 14-year-old girl who received two abortions in just four months.
This behavior is considered “reasonable suspected abuse or neglect for a minor” and should have been reported. The issues of sexual exploitation and teen victimization came into question. During the following investigation, a single “sample of patients” from the clinic showed that seven women received abortions while violations occurred.
More and more people are starting to pay attention and speak out against the atrocities that happen behind Planned Parenthood’s doors. World-famous model Kathy Ireland appeared on the Mike Huckabee Show and explained why she changd her mind from pro-choice to pro-life.
Ireland said she changed her mind, “when I looked at some medical books and saw the scientific evidence ahead of me.” She immediately picked up the phone and called PP to ask for counterevidence.
“It’s just a clump of cells,” they replied, “if you get it early enough it doesn’t even look like a baby.” Ireland was appalled by the response and is now a pro-life advocate.
