A self-proclaimed group of hackers going by the name “Islamic State Hacking Division” announced Tuesday that they posted personal information about US government and military personnel – data they allegedly gathered by hacking government computers and devices.
“Yes, probably,” was the response from an anonymous member of the group when asked if they could have hacked into Hillary’s infamous secret server.
Clinton finally surrendered the server after a report from the Inspector General confirmed that a couple of the emails she sent using server were classified as “TOP SECRET.”
According to cyber-warfare expert Robert Twitchell, the hacking group could definitely have broken into the server. “Oh yeah,” said Twitchell. “Anything that has an IP address.” He added that the server was probably more vulnerable to attack because it was protected by the Department of State.
Jason Polancich, on the other hand, thinks the ISIS group is bluffing. According to the former intelligence analyst, “Most of the information obtained by these hactivist groups, if you look hard enough, anyone can find it. Or if you hack various unprotected or insular websites, you can find it.”
Former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush gave a speech earlier this week in Burbank, CA during which he referred to ISIS as “the focus of evil in the modern world” – citing Hillary Clinton’s mistakes as part of the reason for the militant group’s rise.
He also blames the US departure from Iraq in 2011. Clinton “stood by as that hard-won victory by American and allied forces was thrown away,” says Bush. “In all her record-setting travels, she stopped by Iraq exactly once.”
