Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker officially announced his candidacy for president, releasing a video early Monday morning.
“America needs new, fresh leadership with big, bold ideas from outside of Washington to actually get things done,” Walker said in the video.
During Gov. Walker’s tenure in Wisconsin, he made national headlines tackling labor policy. The two-term Governor was also popular for passing legislation for education reform and government waste.
“We enacted big, bold reforms that took power out of the hands of the big government special interests and gave it to the hard-working taxpayers,” said Walker in his announcement video.
If Gov. Walker intends to be the Republican candidate for president, he will have to get through a very tough primary season – with opponents like Jeb Bush, Donald Trump, Marco Rubio and Rand Paul to challenege him. However, Given Walker’s success in Wisconsin, we can officially add one more big name to the Republican field.
